ETERNAL mat Revital is a versatile silk-matt water-dispersible coating material for indoor and outdoor use prepared from a special cross-linkable dispersion of acrylic copolymers, pigments, fillers, and additives. It forms relatively hard, elastic matte coatings with high weather resistance and excellent resistance to blocking even at higher temperatures. It is characterized by very good opacity, good flow, quick drying, and excellent adhesion even to old synthetic and oil-based coatings. ETERNAL mat Revital meets the requirements of ČSN EN 71 part 3 Safety of toys Migration of certain elements.
Area of use:
ETERNAL mat Revital is intended for interior and exterior coatings of wood, MDF, particle board, cement-bonded particle boards, plasterboard, non-walkable concrete, metal substrates coated with anti-corrosive paint, and certain types of plastics (tough PVC, rigid PVC, ABS, polystyrene plastics, Umakart, polyester, and epoxy laminates; not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE coatings). A test coat must be performed on plastics of unknown composition. It is suitable for painting window frames and sashes, including plastic windows, doors, door frames, radiators, school boards, furniture, such as wooden, metal, and plastic chairs, shelves, benches, carpet beaters, playground equipment, etc. ETERNAL mat Revital is suitable for both new and renovation coatings.
Application:
ETERNAL mat Revital is applied to a dry, perfectly cleaned, and degreased substrate free from loose particles and residues of non-adhering coatings using a brush, roller, pneumatic or high-pressure airless spraying, at substrate and surrounding temperatures ranging from 8 °C to 30 °C and relative humidity max. 75%. Depending on the chosen application technology, the coating material is diluted with water up to a maximum of 15% by weight. For high-pressure airless spraying, ETERNAL mat Revital is not diluted. It is sprayed at a pressure of 160 bar with nozzle no. 311 or larger (verified on VYZA vario equipment). ETERNAL mat Revital is applied in two to three layers depending on the desired thickness, with a time interval of at least 2 hours (20 °C). At lower temperatures and higher relative humidity, the time interval
must be extended. Extension is also necessary for highly absorbent substrates.
Consumption (final coat):
Painting of steel substrates:
Steel substrates must be carefully cleaned of corrosive deposits, mechanical impurities, residues of released old coatings, and degreased (preferably with a solution of ETERNAL degreaser concentrate, or another suitable detergent with subsequent rinsing with water). The prepared and dried substrate is treated with one or two coats of ETERNAL anti-corrosion acrylic paint or ETERNAL for metals with an interval of 4 hours between coats. After the anti-corrosive coating has dried, two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied with a time interval of 2 hours between coats.
Painting of wood, fiberboard, and particle boards:
The substrate is thoroughly cleaned of dust and mechanical impurities, resin spots are removed (e.g., by washing with nitro thinner), and the surface is impregnated with FORTEKRYL impregnation agent that has protective effects against wood-destroying and color-staining fungi and wood-destroying insects. In dry interiors, the penetrating agent FORTE penetral can also be used. After the primer has dried, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Fiberboard and particle boards are then treated with one coat of ETERNAL In stop insulating paint to prevent possible penetration of color stains from the substrate into the top coat. After the insulating coat has dried, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied to the prepared substrate with a time interval of 2 hours between coats.
Painting of concrete surfaces and plasters:
Mineral substrates should be free from non-adhering coatings, mechanical impurities, and greasy surfaces must be thoroughly degreased (ETERNAL degreaser). The dry substrate is impregnated with FORTE penetral and after it has dried, two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied with an interval of 3 hours between coats. For soaking very absorbent substrates (plasters), ETERNAL mat Revital diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 can be used. Mineral substrates must be sufficiently carbonated.
Painting of cement-bonded particle boards:
Cement-bonded particle boards must be sufficiently carbonated. The surface of the boards must be thoroughly cleaned of mechanical impurities, non-adhering old coatings, degraded surface layers, and grease. The prepared substrate is thoroughly saturated with a special penetrating agent FORTE penetral. Penetration is best done with one coat until the substrate is saturated. When the dried penetrating agent begins to form a glossy film on the surface, the penetration is finished. After a minimum of six hours from penetration, two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied with a technological break of 4 hours between coats.
Painting of plastics:
The surfaces of plastics must be thoroughly cleaned, free from any residues of old non-adhering surface treatments, adhesives, separators, protective films, and degreased (preferably with a solution of ETERNAL degreaser concentrate, or another suitable detergent with subsequent rinsing with water). Glossy surfaces should be sanded with fine sandpaper (No. 360, or finer). Two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied to the prepared substrate with a technological break of 4 hours between coats.
