Water-dilutable coating material for concrete and other absorbent materials with medium mechanical load. The coating is flexible with very good adhesion to the substrate. It is water-resistant and vapor-permeable. It resists oils. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Concrete, concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry. Wood, particle boards, fiberboards, and other absorbent materials. Not recommended for permanent moist environments and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing.
Usage:
Coatings for concrete, concrete surfaces, especially concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry, and other absorbent materials subjected to medium mechanical load. Also for wood, particle boards, and fiberboards. Using on non-absorbent and varnished concretes, ceramic tiles, and concretes treated with leveling compounds reduces the adhesion and mechanical durability of the coating film. Not recommended for permanent moist environments and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing. Not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, for coatings of children's furniture, toys, and external plasters.
Preparation of the substrate and application method:
The concrete must be matured (min. 28 days), dry (max. 15% moisture), absorbent (unvarnished), cohesive with a minimum tensile adhesion of 1.5 MPa, smooth without oily stains, etc. It must be free of all mechanical impurities and old coatings. Absorbent substrates must be treated with a primer. For this purpose, EKOBAN® FORTE diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 can be used. Add water gradually and mix during dilution. If the substrate has higher absorbency, the primer may be repeated until the product is absorbed. Before use, the coating material must be thoroughly stirred and diluted with water if necessary (max. 5 - 10%). It is applied by brush, roller, or spraying in two or more layers at a substrate and ambient temperature of +10 to +25 C, always after the previous layer has dried. Temperature conditions must be maintained throughout the drying period of the coating! The drying speed depends on the applied thickness, temperature, humidity, and air circulation. The coated surface is walkable after approximately 8 hours. After 24 hours, the floor can be gradually subjected to mechanical load. The drying film must not get wet after application, and the first exposure to rain can only occur 12 hours after the last layer application. The final properties of the coating are achieved after 10 days of curing. We recommend applying the final layer with paint from the same batch to eliminate possible shade differences. To improve the washability of the floor and increase mechanical resistance, we recommend coating the final layer with Ekoban floor lacquer.
Yield:
Yield per layer is 6 - 7.5 m² per 1 kg of coating material and is influenced by the quality of the substrate and application technique.
Warning:
Perform the first primer coat with Ekoban Forte diluted 1:5 – 1:10 according to the absorbency of the substrate. Dilution should be done gradually while constantly mixing.
