Water-dilutable coating material for concrete and other absorbent materials with medium mechanical stress. The coating is flexible with very good adhesion to the substrate. It resists water and is vapor-permeable. It withstands oils. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Concrete, concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry. Wood, particle boards, fiberboards, and other absorbent materials. It is not recommended for use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing.
Usage:
Coating for concrete, concrete surfaces, especially concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry, and other absorbent materials subjected to medium mechanical stress. Also suitable for wood, particle boards, and fiberboards. Using it on non-absorbent and smoothed concrete, ceramic tiles, and on concrete treated with leveling compounds reduces the adhesion and mechanical resistance of the coating film. It is not recommended for use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing. Not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, for coatings of children's furniture, toys, and exterior plasters.
Surface preparation and application method:
Concrete must be mature (min. 28 days), dry (max. 15% moisture), absorbent (not smoothed), cohesive with a minimum tensile strength of 1.5 MPa, smooth without greasy stains from oils, etc. It must be free from all mechanical impurities and old coatings. Absorbent substrates must be treated with a primer. For this purpose, EKOBAN® FORTE diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 can be used. Add water gradually and mix during dilution. In case of higher absorption of the substrate, it is possible to repeat the primer until the product is absorbed. Before use, it is necessary to thoroughly mix the coating material and dilute with water if needed (max. 5 - 10%). Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in two or more layers at substrate and ambient temperatures of +10 to +25 °C, always after the previous layer has dried. Temperature conditions must be maintained throughout the drying period of the coating! The drying speed depends on the applied thickness, temperature, humidity, and air circulation. The coated surface is walkable approximately after 8 hours. After 24 hours, the floor can be gradually subjected to mechanical load. The drying film must not get wet after application, and the first load from rain can be applied only after 12 hours from the last layer application. The final properties of the coating are achieved after 10 days of curing. It is recommended to apply the final coat with paint from the same production batch to eliminate potential shade differences. To improve washability of the floor and increase mechanical resistance, it is recommended to coat the last layer with Ekoban floor lacquer.
Coverage:
Coverage per layer is 6 - 7.5 m² from 1 kg of coating material and is influenced by the quality of the substrate and application technique.
Warning:
Perform the first priming coat with Ekoban Forte diluted 1:5 – 1:10 according to the absorbency of the substrate. Dilution should be done gradually with constant mixing.
