Self-priming anticorrosive paint with graphite
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
The paint is primarily intended for single-layer outdoor protective coatings of metal roofing, gutters, steel structures and other metal objects exposed to continuous weather conditions and sunlight. The roof paint contains not only a corrosion inhibitor but also a UV absorber that protects the paint binder from degradation. The protection against the paint degradation is guaranteed by the addition of graphite - Czech patent. Thanks to the graphite, the paint features long-lasting resistance to weather conditions, water repellency, and effective barrier anticorrosive protection.
Key properties:
• long-lasting durability
• barrier protection with graphite
• excellent adhesion
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The surface for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 Technical gasoline, BALTECH P6401 Acetone, or where possible, warm high-pressure water with detergent). To remove any remaining salts, it is necessary to rinse the surface with clean water afterwards. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding discs) or using rust removers. If chemical rust remover is used, subsequent rinsing with clean water is required. Coating on galvanized sheet metal is possible only after one year of exposure to weather conditions.
Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (brush, roller), thinner BALTECH S6001 (spraying)
Theoretical coverage: 7 - 8 m²/kg for one layer
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, stir the contents thoroughly and dilute if necessary.
Apply 2 to 3 coats (sprays) of FEST-B 2in1 ROOF PAINT S2141. The recommended thickness of the dry film of one layer is 50 µm. If necessary, additional sprays or coatings can be applied either wet on wet (within about 3 hours) or after drying (after 24 hours).
The application method affects the final appearance of the coating. The structure of the contained graphite may cause color differences (shading) during spreading, but these do not affect the protective properties of the coating.
You might find it useful to have covering material such as paper masking tape or covering film, and possibly sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
