Washable paint for walls REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable painter's coating with a velvety matte appearance, excellent coverage and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe and environmentally friendly. It shows washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). The method of application is a brush or a paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level any irregularities on the wall with REMAL putty. For retouching stains, for example after leaking, it is advisable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolation coating. Before use, mix the coating thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a short-haired REMAL Vinyl roller. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up after a minimum of 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean dirty spots and tools immediately after application with water, dry coating is difficult to remove.

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. As for the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the testing abrasion (cleaning) equipment. The average weight loss of the coating thickness is calculated from the loss of weight. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
