Self-priming anti-corrosion paint with graphite
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
The paint is particularly designed for single-layer outdoor protective coatings of metal roofing, gutters, steel structures and other metal objects exposed to permanent weathering and sunlight. The roof paint contains not only a corrosion inhibitor but also a UV absorber that protects the paint binder from degradation. Protection against degradation of the coating is guaranteed by the addition of graphite - Czech patent. Thanks to graphite, the paint is characterized by long-term resistance to weathering, water repellency, and effective barrier anti-corrosion protection.
Key properties:
• long-lasting durability
• barrier protection with graphite
• excellent adhesion
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased with an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 Technical gasoline, BALTECH P6401 Acetone, or where possible, hot pressurized water with detergent). To remove any residue of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs) or using rust removers. In case of using chemical rust removers, a subsequent rinse with clean water is necessary. Coating on galvanized sheet metal is possible only after one year of exposure to the elements.
Absorbent substrates must first be saturated with an appropriate primer that ensures the uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and free of old non-adhesive coatings.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (brush, roller), thinner BALTECH S6001 (spraying)
Theoretical coverage: 7 - 8 m²/kg for one layer
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, the contents should be thoroughly mixed and, if necessary, diluted.
Apply 2 to 3 coats (spraying) of FEST-B 2in1 ROOF PAINT S2141. The recommended thickness of the dry coating film for one layer is 50 µm. If necessary, additional sprays or coats can be applied either wet on wet (within about 3 hours) or after drying (after 24 hours).
The method of application affects the final appearance of the coating. The structure of the contained graphite can cause color differences (shading) during spreading, which, however, do not affect the protective properties of the coating.
You might need covering material, such as paper tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don’t forget about brushes and rollers.
