Self-priming anti-corrosive paint with graphite
CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATION:
The paint is intended primarily for single-layer outdoor protective coatings of sheet metal roofs, gutters, steel structures and other metal objects exposed to permanent weather effects and sunlight. The roof paint contains not only a corrosion inhibitor but also a UV absorber that protects the paint binder against degradation. The protection against coating degradation is guaranteed by the inclusion of graphite - a Czech patent. Thanks to graphite, the paint is characterized by long-term resistance to weather effects, water repellency, and effective barrier corrosion protection.
Key properties:
• long lifespan
• barrier protection with graphite
• excellent adhesion
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 Technical gasoline, BALTECH P6401 Acetone or, where possible, warm high-pressure water with detergent). To remove any residues of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding or scraping). Any rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding wheels) or using rust removers. In the case of using chemical rust removers, subsequent rinsing with clean water is necessary. Coating on galvanized sheet metal is possible only after one year of exposure to weather effects.
Absorbent substrates must first be primed with a suitable primer to ensure uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.
DILUTION: diluent BALTECH S6006 (brush, roller), diluent BALTECH S6001 (spraying)
Theoretical yield: 7 - 8 m²/kg for one coat
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, thoroughly mix the contents and dilute if necessary.
Apply 2 to 3 coats (spray) of FEST-B 2in1 PAINT FOR ROOFS S2141. The recommended dry film thickness of one layer is 50 µm. If necessary, additional sprays or coats can be applied either wet on wet (within approx. 3 hours), or after drying (after 24 h).
The method of application affects the final appearance of the coating. The structure of the included graphite may cause color differences (shading) during spreading, which do not affect the protective properties of the coating.
You may find covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering film, or possibly sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
