Self-priming anticorrosive paint with graphite
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
The paint is intended mainly for single-layer outdoor protective coatings of sheet metal roofing, gutters, steel structures and other metal items exposed to permanent weather effects and sunlight. The roof paint contains not only a corrosion inhibitor but also a UV absorber that protects the paint binder from degradation. Protection against degradation of the coating is guaranteed by the addition of graphite - Czech patent. Thanks to the graphite, the paint features long-term resistance to weather effects, water repellency, and effective barrier anticorrosive protection.
Key properties:
• long service life
• barrier protection with graphite
• excellent adhesion
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First and foremost, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 Technical gasoline, BALTECH P6401 Acetone or, where possible, warm high-pressure water containing detergent). To remove any residual salts, the surface must be rinsed with clean water afterwards. Coarse and well-adhered dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding wheels) or using rust removers. When using chemical rust removers, it is necessary to rinse with clean water afterwards. Coating on galvanized sheet metal is possible only after one year of exposure to weather effects.
Absorbent substrates must first be treated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and freed from old non-adhering coatings.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (brush, roller), thinner BALTECH S6001 (spraying)
Theoretical coverage: 7 - 8 m²/kg for one layer
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, thoroughly mix the contents and dilute if necessary.
Apply 2 to 3 coats (spraying) of FEST-B 2in1 PAINT FOR ROOFS S2141. The recommended thickness of the dry coating film for one layer is 50 µm. If necessary, additional coats or sprays can be applied either wet on wet (within about 3 hours) or after drying (after 24 hours).
The method of application affects the final appearance of the coating. The structure of the contained graphite may cause color differences (shading) when spreading, which, however, do not affect the protective properties of the coating.
You may find it useful to have covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film, or possibly sandpapers. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
