Het Soldecol blacksmith paint for metal self-priming, 2.5 l

Het Soldecol self-priming one-component alkyd-urethane paint for metal self-priming containing iron mica, graphite, and metallic pigments intended for outdoor and indoor anti-corrosive coatings of iron metals or suitably treated non-ferrous metals – galvanized steel, copper, aluminum, etc. The paint is particularly suitable for coating forged products, steel structures, grilles, gates, fences, doors, railings, forged furniture, benches, street lighting, etc. The coating withstands the effects of weather conditions. It is also suitable for the renovation of old (cohesive) coating systems. The main advantage is direct coatings on iron metals without the need for a primer (so-called 3 in 1 - primer, intermediate layer, top coat). In aggressive environments, a combination with a primer is recommended. Due to its thixotropic nature, the paint does not show tendencies to run and can be applied in large thicknesses. The paint is highly applicable (HB - high build), thus meeting applications requiring the application of large thicknesses in one spray (over 70 μm dry film [DFT]).

Thinner:
S 6006 (brush, roller), S 6001 (spraying). The paint typically does not need to be thinned.

Application:
with a brush or roller with a short pile (for solvent-based paints). In case of spraying, it is necessary to adjust the nozzle size and the sieve according to the roughness of the pigmentation. The paint cannot be applied using airless techniques.

Coverage:
8 - 10 m² per 1 liter of paint in one layer (40 μm DFT, without loss)

Consumption:
0.125 liters of mixture per 1 m² in one layer (40 μm DFT, without loss)

Substrate:
cohesive, dry, free of mechanical impurities, scale, and rust, degreased. Iron metals should be brushed with a wire brush or sandpaper, or possibly shot-blasted (minimum to grade 2, better 2.5). For non-ferrous metals (galvanized steel, copper, aluminum, etc.), remove corrosion products (white rust, verdigris, etc.) with sandpaper or light shot-blasting using non-ferrous abrasives. The zinc layer must not be damaged on galvanized surfaces. For non-ferrous metals, an appropriate primer follows. See the application procedures section for more details.
