Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for painting steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the surface of the coating that prevents dirt, airborne deposits, and water from adhering and affecting the coated surface. Therefore, HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer a custom shade, a tinting base is available to create an additional 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL GASOLINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or where possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). In case of removal of residual salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (steel brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%) and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action is spread, e.g. with an artificial fleece cloth on a handle, until a metallic grey foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be soaked with a suitable primer to ensure uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and mixed thoroughly. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the anticipated environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller without a claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.

You may find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, or possibly sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
