Hammerite smooth paint directly on rusty metal, silver shade, 0.7 l + 0.25 l

Hammerite Direct to Rust Smooth is a one-component, air-drying paint with both anti-corrosive and decorative effects, intended for iron metals (iron, steel, cast iron) in both indoor and outdoor environments. This coating has been specially designed for direct application on corroded metal and provides active anti-corrosive protection for up to 8 years. Thanks to the new DUALTECH technology, it boasts high water repellency. The paint is characterized by easy application and quick drying. The resulting surface is washable with water and detergents, resistant to bending and impacts, and shows good adhesion to the substrate.

It features high thermal resistance – it can withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of 80 °C and regular loads up to 150 °C, while prolonged exposure to temperatures exceeding 50 °C may lead to discoloration and fading. It also offers excellent chemical resistance – after complete curing, it withstands staining from common building materials, diesel, gasoline, and diluted acids or alkalis (up to a maximum concentration of 10%), but painted items must not be immersed in these chemical substances.

Instructions for use:
The surface must be dry before painting, free of grease, dust, and dirt. Remove any peeling rust! Roughen intact painted metal surfaces with sandpaper. Do not inhale dust. Then wash with water and detergent, rinse thoroughly with clean water and let dry. For corroded metal surfaces, remove poorly adhering residues of old coatings, and clean the surface thoroughly with a wire brush or rough sandpaper or a hand grinder. Smooth metal surfaces must be roughened to enhance adhesion. For unpainted zinc, aluminum, and galvanized surfaces, apply a special primer for non-ferrous metals. Galvanized surfaces can be treated with Hammerite product directly for non-ferrous metals without the need for a primer. On pre-painted surfaces, apply a test coat and let it dry for 4 hours. In case of adverse reaction, remove the old coating.

Do not dilute, mix lightly, do not use mechanical mixing. Apply in two thick layers (100 microns). Do not excessively spread the paint. Apply another coat at least after 6 hours. Rain resistant after 2 hours.

Before cleaning, remove as much paint as possible from the brush and roller. Clean the brush/roller with Hammerite thinner. The product is sensitive to air. The paint dries quickly on contact with air and may form a skin in the can. Do not dispose of in sewers and watercourses. Protect the can from frost and direct sunlight. Warning: Do not use empty containers for food storage. Store in a dry place, in the original sealed container at temperatures of +5 to +30 °C. Protect the can from frost and direct sunlight. The batch number and expiration date are indicated on the packaging. Use within 60 months from the date of manufacture.
