Oil-based impregnating oil made from linseed varnish, intended primarily for the basic impregnation of wood, with excellent penetration properties.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE OF THE PRODUCT:
It is primarily used for the basic impregnation of wood, plasters, and other absorbent substrates, before further coatings with oil-based, synthetic, or dispersion paints. It ensures perfect adhesion of top coats, thus protecting the substrate from adverse weather influences.
Key properties:
• excellent wood penetration
• suitable for other absorbent substrates (masonry, paper)
• traditional oil coating
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface treatment and also the overall lifespan of the coating system. Mineral substrates must be fully cured for at least 28 days before application, must be dry and free of dust, must not be contaminated with grease, oil products, and must be isolated from ground moisture.
DILUENT: BALTECH S6006
Theoretical coverage: approx. 7 m²/ l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, mix the contents thoroughly and dilute as needed. It is applied with a brush, roller, or by dipping onto the pre-prepared substrate.
Color coating of the wood:
- 1× application with UNIBAL IMPREGNATING VARNISH O1000. After approx. 20 minutes, excess varnish must be wiped off so that no glossy coating remains on the surface.
- after 48 hours of drying, sand the surface with sandpaper.
- 1 to 2× application of primer UNIBAL VARNISH COLOR O2025.
- 1 to 2× application of top enamel INDUSTROL UNIVERSAL S2013 or LAZUROL WINDOW ENAMEL U2015
