DENAS OSTAFIX N is a thin-layer universal adhesive with high adhesion, intended for gluing ceramic tiles, slabs, ceiling tiles, cladding panels and strips made of expanded polystyrene and polyurethane, wood, mirrors, glass, PVC, rubber flooring, gypsum casts, and coverings. A firm bond requires that one of the glued surfaces be a cohesive absorbent material, such as concrete, plaster, aerated concrete, and particularly panel construction materials like fiber-cement and cement-bonded particle boards, drywall, chipboard, and also hardboard, e.g. prefabricated apartment cores and other building materials. OSTAFIX N can also be used for sealing joints and cracks in the substrate before painting.
Composition (general):
Adhesive based on water-based acrylic dispersion, containing binders based on water-based acrylic dispersion, fine fillers, pigments, dispersing agents, and modifying additives
The substrate must be solid, dry, free of dirt and grease. Absorbent substrates should be treated with the DENAS DEEP PENETRATING AGENT. Before gluing on older plasters, it is necessary to remove layers of paint, then thoroughly dust off and prime. Solid and non-absorbent substrates need only to be thoroughly cleaned and degreased. The surface does not need to be primed.
OSTAFIX N is applied to the substrate with a notched trowel with a tooth height of 3–7 mm. The height of the teeth is determined by the flatness of the substrate and the format of the cladding material, so that after placing the cladding into the adhesive layer and subsequent removal, the imprint of the adhesive must be clearly visible on the entire back side of the glued material. The adhesive is applied to an area that can be covered with cladding material within 10 minutes. The cladding is placed into the adhesive layer and positioned with pressure or tapping. Ceramic tiles should not be moistened with water before gluing! In the case of gluing polystyrene ceilings and coverings, full-surface gluing is not necessary; the adhesive is usually applied in dots or strips on the edges and in the center of the cladding panels. The temperature during gluing and the drying of the adhesive must not drop below 15 °C.
Consumption: 0.3–1.5 kg/m2 depending on the type and quality of the substrate and glued materials.
Safety handling instructions:
Prevent release into the environment. Dispose of contents/container by handing it to an authorized person for waste management or returning it to the supplier. H412 – Harmful to aquatic organisms, with long-lasting effects.
Safety and hygiene:
Follow personal hygiene principles. In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with water and soap. If in eyes, rinse with plenty of water. If swallowed, rinse mouth with water, do not induce vomiting. If health concerns arise, seek medical attention.
