Water-dilutable paint for concrete and other absorbent materials with higher mechanical stress. The coating is flexible with very good adhesion to the substrate. Coated surfaces exhibit very good mechanical resistance, are resistant to water, salt solutions, oils, and temporarily to diesel fuel. The coating is vapor-permeable and withstands weather conditions including UV radiation. These properties are maintained even when applied to other porous materials, such as wood, eternit, etc.
Use:
For indoor and outdoor use. Concrete, concrete floors (garages, workshops, warehouses, stairs, balconies, terraces), masonry. Wood, chipboard and fiberboard, and other absorbent materials. It is not recommended for use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing.
Coverage:
Coverage for one layer is 6 - 7.5 m² per 1 kg of paint, depending on the quality of the substrate and application technique.
Preparation of the substrate and method of application:
Concrete must be mature (min. 28 days), dry (max. 15% moisture), absorbent (non-glazed), cohesive with a minimum pull-off strength of 1.5 MPa, smooth without oily stains, etc. It must be free of all mechanical impurities and old coatings. Absorbent substrates must be treated with a primer. For this purpose, EKOBAN® FORTE PLUS diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 can be used. Add water gradually and mix during dilution. In case of higher absorbency of the substrate, the primer must be repeated until the product absorbs. Before use, the coating must be thoroughly mixed and diluted with water if necessary (max. 5%). It is applied with a brush, roller, or spraying in two or more layers at ambient and substrate temperatures of +10 to +25 °C, always after the previous layer has dried. Temperature conditions must be maintained throughout the drying time of the coating! The drying speed depends on the thickness applied, temperature, humidity, and air flow. The coated surface is walkable approximately after 8 hours. After 24 hours, the floor can be gradually mechanically loaded. The coating reaches its final properties after 14 days of curing. We recommend applying the final layer with paint from one production batch to eliminate any possible shade differences.
Warning:
The first primer coat should be done with Ekoban Forte Plus diluted 1:5 – 1:10 according to the absorbency of the substrate. Dilution should be done gradually while continuously mixing.
