A water-dilutable coating for concrete and other absorbent materials with medium mechanical stress. The coating is flexible with very good adhesion to the substrate. It is water-resistant and vapor-permeable. It resists oils. For indoor and outdoor use. Concrete, concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry. Wood, particle boards, fiberboards, and other absorbent materials. It is not recommended for use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing.
Usage:
Coatings for concrete, concrete surfaces, especially concrete floors (basements, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry, and other absorbent materials subjected to medium mechanical stress. Also suitable for wood, particle boards, and fiberboards. Using on non-absorbent and polished concretes, ceramic tiles, and on concretes treated with leveling compounds reduces the adhesion and mechanical resistance of the coating film. It is not recommended for use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing. Not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, for coatings of children's furniture, toys, and outdoor plaster.
Preparation of the substrate and method of application:
Concrete must be mature (min. 28 days), dry (max. 15% moisture), absorbent (not polished), cohesive with a minimum tensile adhesion of 1.5 MPa, smooth without oily stains, etc. It must be free from all mechanical impurities and old coatings. Absorbent substrates must be treated with a primer. For this purpose, EKOBAN® FORTE can be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10. Add water gradually and mix during dilution. In case of higher absorbency of the substrate, the primer can be repeated until the product is absorbed. Before use, the coating material must be thoroughly stirred and if necessary diluted with water (max. 5 - 10%). It is applied with a brush, roller, or spraying in two or more layers at a substrate and ambient temperature of +10 to +25 C, always after the previous layer has dried. The temperature conditions must be maintained throughout the drying period of the coating! The drying speed depends on the applied thickness, temperature, humidity, and air circulation. The coated surface is walkable in approximately 8 hours. After 24 hours, the floor can be gradually subjected to mechanical loading. The drying film must not get wet after application, and the first exposure to rain can occur only after 12 hours from the application of the last layer. Final properties are achieved after 10 days of curing. For the final layer, it is recommended to use paint from one production batch to eliminate potential color differences. To improve the washability of the floor and increase mechanical resistance, we recommend overcoating the last layer of paint with Ekoban floor lacquer.
Yield:
The coverage per layer is 6 - 7.5 m² per 1 kg of coating material and is influenced by substrate quality and application technique.
Dilution:
With water (see substrate preparation).
Warning:
First primer application should be done with Ekoban Forte diluted 1:5 – 1:10 depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Dilution should be done gradually with constant mixing.
