A water-dilutable coating material for concrete and other absorbent materials subjected to moderate mechanical stress. The coating is flexible with very good adhesion to the substrate. It is water-resistant and vapor-permeable. It resists oils. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Concrete, concrete floors (cellars, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry. Wood, particle boards, fiberboards, and other absorbent materials. It is not recommended to use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing.
Usage:
Coatings for concrete, concrete surfaces, especially concrete floors (cellars, warehouses, corridors, workshops), masonry, and other absorbent materials subjected to moderate mechanical stress. Also for wood, particle boards, and fiberboards. Using it on non-absorbent and polished concretes, ceramic tiles, and on concretes treated with leveling compounds reduces the adhesion and mechanical resistance of the coating film. It is not recommended to use in permanently damp areas and in places where floors need to be cleaned with abrasive agents and machine washing. It is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with foodstuffs, feed, drinking water, for coatings of children's furniture, toys, and external plasters.
Substrate preparation and application method:
The concrete must be mature (min. 28 days), dry (max. 15% moisture), absorbent (non-polished), cohesive with a minimum tensile strength of 1.5 MPa, smooth without greasy stains from oils, etc. It must be free of all mechanical impurities and old coatings. Absorbent substrates must be treated with a primer. For this purpose, EKOBAN® FORTE diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 can be used. Add water gradually and mix during dilution. In the case of higher absorbency of the substrate, it is possible to repeat the primer until the product is absorbed. Before use, the coating material must be thoroughly stirred and diluted with water if necessary (max. 5 - 10%). It is applied with a brush, roller, or spray in two or more coats at a substrate and ambient temperature of +10 to +25 C, always after the previous layer has dried. The temperature conditions must be maintained throughout the drying process of the coating! The drying speed depends on the applied thickness, temperature, humidity, and air circulation. The coated surface is walkable in approximately 8 hours. After 24 hours, the floor can gradually be subjected to mechanical load. The drying film must not get wet after application, and the first load from rain is possible only after 12 hours from the application of the last coat. The final properties of the coating are achieved after 10 days of curing. It is recommended to apply the final layer with paint from the same production batch in order to eliminate potential color differences. To improve the washability of the floor and increase mechanical resistance, it is recommended to topcoat the last layer of the coating with Ekoban floor lacquer.
Coverage:
The coverage per layer is 6 - 7.5 m² from 1 kg of coating material and is influenced by the quality of the substrate and the application technique.
Warning:
Perform the first primer layer with Ekoban Forte diluted 1:5 – 1:10 depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Dilution should be done gradually while constantly mixing.
