
How to solve mold on the wall? The REMAL ANTI-MOLD paint is a water-dispersible anti-mold paint for walls with a preventive effect against mold growth such as Penicillium glaucum, Chaetomium globosum, Aspergillus niger, Alternaria tenuis, Aureobasidium pullulans, Scletophoma pityophila. The maximum preventive effectiveness of the anti-mold paint is also achieved against fungi, yeasts, algae, and bacteria.
Anti-mold wall paint REMAL covers excellently, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a high whiteness of 90%. REMAL paint is used for anti-mold coatings of plasters, concrete, drywall, cement boards in interiors. The mold-resistant paint shows wet abrasion resistance – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300). Use the anti-mold paint safely.

Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat areas affected by mold with the REMAL Sanal for masonry V1406 according to instructions. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, non-cohesive and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust from the surface, strengthen it, unify absorptiveness, and ensure adhesion of the coating. Drying time is 4 hours. For preventive anti-mold effect, it is possible to use REMAL anti-mold deep primer. Level any irregularities on the wall with REMAL Filler. For problematic areas (leaky spots, etc.), it is advisable to use the insulating coat REMAL Flek-strop.
Thinned the mold paint with a maximum of 0.4 l of water per 1 kg of paint. Then mix the mold paint thoroughly. Apply with a brush, roller, or spray in 2 layers, applying the next coat after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting mold paint is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C during application. Use products from the same batch for cohesive surfaces; mix different batches together before use.
When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical assistance.
The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 3-iodo-2-propynyl-N-butylcarbamate, 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine [ES number 225-208-0], reaction mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and determining washability of paint. Concerning the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. The average value of the loss of coating thickness is calculated from the weight loss. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
How often to paint?
It is generally recommended to paint approximately every 4 to 5 years. However, if you have small children or pets in your family, it is advisable to repaint approximately every 2 years for hygiene and aesthetic reasons.
