Universal water-soluble acrylic matte paint for wood and metal - for indoor and outdoor coatings of wood, fiberboard and chipboard, concrete, paper, and metal substrates coated with a basic anti-corrosion primer. It is suitable for coatings of central heating.
Usage:
for top indoor and outdoor coatings of wood, fiberboard and chipboard, as well as metal substrates coated with a basic anti-corrosion primer, or for decorative coatings of mineral substrates, paper, etc. The paint meets the requirements for coatings on surfaces that may come into indirect and direct incidental contact with food, also meets the requirements of EN 71-3:2013 (Safety of toys – Part 3: Migration of certain elements). The dried coating withstands temperatures around 70 °C. The paint is suitable, for example, for coating windows, doors, central heating bodies, etc. Without subsequent treatment with varnish, it is not suitable for use on more mechanically stressed furniture and other surfaces. The paint is not intended for direct contact with food and drinking water. It is not intended for coating the interiors of water tanks, swimming pools, etc.
Coverage:
6 - 8 m² from 1 kg of paint in one layer depending on the absorbency and structure of the substrate, application technique, thickness of the applied layer, and other factors.
Application:
with a roller, brush, airless spraying
Preparation of paint before use:
any skin must be removed beforehand and the paint properly mixed. When handling or mixing, care should be taken to avoid air getting into the paint mass. The paint can be diluted with water as needed and according to the above recommendations. Note, excessive dilution of the paint reduces opacity and may degrade the paint properties. After opening the container, the paint should be processed as soon as possible.
Example of application procedure - coating wood:
- for wood containing resin, resin spots should be washed with solvent C 6000 and after the solvent has dried, the wood should be lightly sanded with sandpaper No. 80 - 100.
- in outdoor use, the wood should be treated with a preparation against wood-destroying fungi and wood-destroying insects, e.g., the Bochemit QB HOBBY or Krovsan preparation. (The compatibility of other preparations against fungi and insects should be consulted in advance with a sales-technical advisor.)
- the primer is applied using the pure AKRYL MAT paint diluted according to the absorbency of the substrate (max. 0.05 l of water/1 kg of paint). For the primer, the AKRYL ZÁKLAD NA DŘEVO paint diluted according to the absorbency of the substrate (max. 0.1 l of water/1 kg of paint) can also be used. After thorough drying (min. 4 - 5 hours at 20 °C, better 24 hrs), the coating film is sanded with sandpaper No. 100 – 120.
- if necessary, filling is recommended between the primer and the first topcoat. Each specific filler must be individually tested before applying paint. The filler is sanded with sandpaper No. 100 – 120 after thorough drying.
- the top coat is applied with AKRYL MAT paint in 2 - 3 layers (dilution max. 0.05 l of water per 1 kg of paint). Between coatings, a time interval of at least 4 hours (20 °C) is required. The first layer should be lightly sanded with sandpaper No. 150 – 220 after thorough drying.
- all tools should be protected from drying out during work breaks and washed with water after work.
Example of application procedure - coating metal:
- the substrate should be cleaned from rust with a wire brush and sandpaper and degreased.
- the primer should be done with the anti-corrosion primer AQUADECOL PRIMER (in 1 to 2 layers so that in the interior the minimum consumption is 0.14 kg/m²; i.e., about 80 μm of dried film, in the exterior 0.2 kg/m², i.e., about 120 μm of dried film). The primer can also be done with SOLDECOL PRIMER paint in 1 to 2 layers (according to the instructions). After thorough drying of the last layer (at least after 24 hours), the topcoat is applied.
- the top coat is applied with AKRYL MAT paint in 2 - 3 layers (dilution max. 0.05 l of water per 1 kg of paint). Between coatings, a time interval of at least 4 hours (20 °C) is required. The first or possibly second layer should be lightly sanded with sandpaper No. 180 – 220 after thorough drying.
- all tools should be protected from drying out during work breaks and washed with water after work.
