Synthetic oil-based impregnation stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings of soft and hardwoods exposed to weather influences as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects the wood from UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, highlighting its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, wood floor priming.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudations, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that ensures protection against fungal, mold, and insect attacks, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNANT BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably first impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Priming with a colorless impregnator will ensure uniform absorption of the substrate before further application of coating materials. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. When renovating, the old non-adhering layer must be removed from the wood, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, as it is already at the application viscosity. During work, the staining lacquer should be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off any excess lacquer with a dry brush or cloth 10 to 15 minutes after application.

For contiguous areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final color shade, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if made for the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALK-ON VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked in stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.

You might find covering materials like paper masking tape or cover foil handy. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
